Supervisor: Director of Health and Wellness
Prerequisites:

16 years of age or older
·
Teaching experience preferred
·
Trained in First Aid & CPR or within first 60 days of
employment
·
YMCA child abuse prevention training with first 60
days of employment
Specific Responsibilities:
Youth
Instructors need to have the adaptability to direct, control and/or
plan activities of groups of children.

Communicate with parents about children’s progression
in class
·
Be attentive to children and their needs
·
Follow predesigned lesson plans
·
Set up and put away all equipment needed for class

YMCA
Policy enforcement:
1.
Read, know, follow and enforce emergency procedures, YMCA policies,
rules, and health codes applicable to the facility.
2.
Maintain professional appearance and attitude.
3.
Be responsible for all scheduled hours and if necessary, follow
the appropriate substitution procedures. Failure to do so could
result in disciplinary action.
Staff Training:
1.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training and
other YMCA certification training. Keeping all personal
certifications and skills current. Also keeping up to date on
health related classes/lectures to provide the most current
information to our members
Effect on End Results:
Provide a safe and positive experience for all members in preschool
classes. Give the member the experience that makes them want to
come back tomorrow. Frequent interaction with members, class
participants and parents/guardians of class participants. All of the
staff time is spent directly with class participants in an
instructional environment. |
