Member Services Associate

PREREQUISITES:

  • Current state approved first aid and CPR certification (within 90 days of hire)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year or more of customer service experience

OVERVIEW:

  • Builds relationships with members to encourage deeper involvement in the YMCA and provides extraordinary customer service
  • Enrolls members and community participants

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Greet every person that comes into the YMCA with a smile and cheerful greeting

·         Answer phones with a positive greeting, “Kroehler Family YMCA, this is “Joe” how can I help you?”

·         Be knowledgeable on all YMCA programs

·         Provide accurate information to all

·         Provide prompt and courteous service; promptly respond to member concerns

·         Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers

·         Enrolls new members and processes member applications, including performing data entry

·         Registers members and participants in classes and programs, including performing data entry

·         Conducts interviews and facility tours with potential members and sells memberships

·         Promotes Strong Kids Campaign to members and community participants

·         Balances and accurately reports cash transactions

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Implement Character Development in all phases of work.

·         Build relationships with members and community participants to acquire deeper connection and commitment to the YMCA following the Member Involvement model.

·         Read, know, follow and enforce emergency procedures, YMCA policies, rules, and health codes.

·         Use of time clock is required.  Clock in no more than 5 minutes before the beginning of a scheduled shift and no more than 5 minutes after the shift end time.

·         Be responsible for all scheduled shifts and follow substitution procedures.

·         Participate in planning and/or running Healthy Kids Day in the spring.

·         Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings.

·         Attend annual Staff Rally in the fall.
