CIT Leader
Supervisor: Youth, Family and Daycare Services Director
Prerequisites:
Must be 21 years of age, and have a college degree in elementary
education or related field or be enrolled in an accredited University.
At least 2 years experience working with camps, and be able to work
all summer (May – August). CPR and First Aid certification is also
required.
General Responsibilities:
The CIT
Leader will be under the direction of the Youth, Family and Daycare
Services Director. The CIT Leader is responsible for the
administrative aspects and overseeing the day to day activities of the
CIT programs and reporting to the Youth, Family and Daycare Services
Director

Skill
Development and Progression:
1.
Abide by all American Camping Association standards, prepare
and update the ACA binder, inform camp staff of ACA standards during
camp staff training, and prepare for ACA audit.
2.
Attend any necessary camp training if required.
Staff
Training:
1. Assist in planning and delivering of staff hiring, all hiring
paperwork necessary and staff
training.
2.
To ensure all camp staff attend necessary camp training
including First Aid, CPR, Child
Abuse Training and Safari Camp specific camp training.
Supervision:
1.
To supervise and oversee all CIT participants on a daily basis.
Program Development:
1.
To abide by the policies and procedures described in the Safari
Camp Parent Handbook.
2.
To maintain good public relations with people in the community
on and off duty.
3.
To ensure the completion of the weekly program curriculum and
submit them to the Youth, Family and Daycare Services Director.
4.
Assist in planning field trips with CIT participants.
5.
Inventory and general supplies for the CIT program.
General Responsibilities:
1.
To refer problems and concerns to the Youth, Family and Daycare
Services Director.
2.
Documenting all incident/accident forms and getting them to the
HR office in a timely manner.
3.
Attend to any CIT parent concerns.
Effect
on End Results:
To ensure
that all administrative duties for camp runs smoothly and the
leadership presented to the CIT participants is of a role model and a
learning tool. To ensure a quality and safe camping experience for
all children attending. |
