The Heritage YMCA group is proud to be associated with Educating and encouraging people to build Developmental Assets in Youth KidsMatter is a not-for-profit Naperville organization that partners with youth, parents, businesses, youth serving agencies and organizations, schools and faith communities to support the development of caring, competent and responsible young people. KidsMatter uses Search Institute’s research-proven 40 Developmental Asset Framework to accomplish its mission. On one level, Assets represent everyday wisdom about positive experiences and characteristics essential for healthy youth development. On another level, Search Institute's research has found that Assets are powerful influences on adolescent behavior – protecting youth from many at-risk behaviors while simultaneously promoting positive attitudes and behaviors.
