AURORA
FAMILY YMCA ANNOUNCES NEW YMCA G.O.L.F. ACADEMY
(The
ACADEMY Offers Affordable Award Winning Instruction To Youth And
Adults)
YMCA programs make a
difference by providing individuals and families opportunities to
grow healthier in spirit, mind and body, and by helping them develop
a sense of responsibility for each other and the global community.
As part of its ongoing effort to expand quality program offerings,
the Aurora Family YMCA is excited to introduce the YMCA G.O.L.F
ACADEMY to the community.
The YMCA G.O.L.F. ACADEMY
offers the perfect combination of qualities, rules and tradition as
one explores the great game of golf. With a 160 year old fundamental
spirit, mind and body healthy living philosophy at the YMCA, the
ACADEMY is an important part of our mission to help families live
healthier together. G.O.L.F. combines the YMCA four core values into
guiding principles of the program and stands for the following; Give
back and be a CARING person, Operate in life with HONESTY and
integrity, Learn to RESPECT others as well as yourself, Face
challenges and accept RESPONSIBILITY.
The ACADEMY offers award
winning instruction for youth beginners and advanced beginners ages
8-17 along with adult private lessons for ages 18 & up. Golf
instruction will take place at family-friendly courses who are
collaborating with the YMCA to bring this affordable and high
quality program to the community. Wolf Run Golf Course in Aurora,
Valley Green Golf Course in North Aurora and the Naperville Park
District's Springbrook Golf Course are instruction locations.
As a charitable
non-profit organization, the YMCA depends on emotional and financial
support of people in the communities we serve. "We understand that
in our service areas there are representative families with low to
moderate incomes and contributions to the Heritage YMCA Strong Kids
Campaign allows us to deliver on a necessary promise, "We will never
turn anyone away because they lack the financial resources to pay
for YMCA membership, programs or services." "With the support of
collaborative partners and donors, we can continue to keep the
promise and make programs like the YMCA G.O.L.F. ACADEMY affordable
and available to kids and families. To help us increase Strong Kids
donations in the world of "golf," Wolf Run Golf Course in Aurora has
agreed to donate $1 of each green fee paid by Y Members to the
campaign," said Walter Johnson, Vice President, Resource Development
at the Heritage YMCA.
The YMCA G.O.L.F. ACADEMY
Youth Golf programs begin June 15th. There is a program fee that
includes a set of YMCA golf club that students may keep or there is
a program fee that doesn't include YMCA golf clubs if kids want to
bring their own clubs. To make an appointment for private YMCA Adult
Golf lessons, call or Email
