Harris Puts Finishing Touches on Kroehler Family YMCA During Community Service Day

(Kroehler Family YMCA receives gift of volunteerism from Harris)

(Naperville, IL)….The Kroehler Family YMCA was a destination location for a team of Harris volunteers who did some incredible work during Community Service Day.

Approximately 25 volunteers were on the scene in their red volunteer shirts painting rooms, raking leaves, digging dirt, planting shrubs and more. When asked what the day meant to the Harris volunteers, Stacy Sullivan, Vice President, said, "Harris has been helping the community for 125 years since 1882 and today's Community Service Day reinforces our commitment to building stronger communities."

The morning included a special hello and cheer from Naperville Mayor A. George Pradel who recognized the team for giving back. R.J. Bartels, Executive Director of the Kroehler Family YMCA shared some comments about the impact the day had on him, his staff and the building, "Harris has been a strong supporter of the YMCA. Today's event is just another example of their commitment to the YMCA and the community. Their landscaping and painting projects finished off an entire building's worth of renovations and improvements that began back in August. They have certainly brightened our YMCA for the kids and families that come through our doors every day. We can't thank them enough for their efforts and results achieved in one day."
