Y-GUIDE
PROGRAMS UNITE DADS, DAUGHTERS AND SONS
Heritage
YMCA Group hosting information nights in early September
(Naperville, IL) August
30, 2007…Are you struggling to find that "quality time" to
spend with your children? The Heritage YMCA serving Aurora,
Naperville, and Oswego communities has the perfect solution.
Y-Guide Programs are
designed for dads that want to spend more time with their
daughters and sons. It is an 81-year-old program providing
families with bonding experiences that create lifelong memories.
Dads and their children
will participate in monthly meetings that include fun activities
like singing songs, playing games, and making crafts together.
Other planned adventures include campouts with bonfires and hikes
in the woods at local camp grounds, trips to IMAX, visits to
museums, bicycle rides along the river, daddy/daughter dances,
wall-climbing and game nights at the YMCA, and more.
"Absolutely one of the
best things I have done as a father! Having a busy lifestyle
sometimes makes it difficult to commit to just plain-old fun
activities with the kids. The Y-Guides and Y-Princesses programs
will create memories that last a lifetime. The kids will surely
forget the multitude of soccer games, swim meets and volleyball
tourneys – but my guess is they will never forget our campouts and
fun times we had together because of the Y," said Ray Kinney,
President, Minuteman Press.
The YMCA is currently
accepting enrollment in the Y-Guides program (K-4), Y-Princesses
program (K-4) and Trailblazers program (grades 5 & up). The
community is invited to attend one of the upcoming information
nights: September 6, 7:30 p.m. at the Oswego Family YMCA;
September 8, 1:00 p.m. at the Fry Family YMCA, and September 11,
7:00 p.m. at the Kroehler Family YMCA. You may also visit
