Heritage YMCA Summer Camps Receive State Award
"You can fit a lot of great memories in a backpack!"

(Naperville, IL)…..The Heritage YMCA Group Summer Day Camps received the American Camp Association program excellence award for the State of Illinois in 2006. The American Camp Association (ACA) is a community of camp professionals who, for nearly 100 years, have joined together to share knowledge and experience, and ensure delivery of quality camp programs.

This award is the highest honor given to any camp from the ACA in the State of Illinois. Over 100 camps are accredited each year through the Illinois Chapter of ACA. ACA-accredited camps meet up to 300 standards of health, safety and program quality.

RJ Bartels, director of operations for all Heritage YMCA Summer Camps said, "this award is an affirmation of the great work the YMCA does to provide a safe and fun environment for children and teens during the Summer. We offer many affordable camping experiences for kids of all ages and we encourage non-members to join the YMCA as they can save up to 50% on most camp fees alone, not to mention the other benefits of a Heritage YMCA membership."

Heritage YMCA Summer Camps collectively serve the communities of Aurora, Naperville, Oswego, North Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Montgomery and St. Charles with traditional and specialty day camps. On any given week, over 700 children and teens participate in YMCA Summer Camps. Parents can send their children to YMCA camps for summer fun and also for child care as many camps offer a Camp+ option for working parents with extended drop-off and pick-up hours.

Register your kids for extreme fun this summer with the YMCA! Summer Camp 2007 registration for YMCA members begins on Valentine's Day, February 14th, at all Heritage YMCA branches and on-line. Camp catalogs will be available at any Heritage YMCA branch beginning on February 14th. Open registration for the community begins April 2nd.
