Fitness Consultation – THE FIRST STEP

All new and existing members of the YMCA are advised to make an appointment with one of our Fitness Consultants to discuss:

·      The safest and most effective ways to reach your goals based on your exercise experience, nutritional habits, injuries, personal preferences and predispositions

·      The most common mistakes that most exercisers make and the ways to avoid them

·      The best way to develop a long lasting commitment and a greater motivation

This 60-minute appointment is FREE to members.

Fitness Evaluation*

A fitness test that will take you through a range of fitness evaluations to determine your current fitness level.  Tests include: Sit and Reach (flexibility). Sit-ups and Push-ups (strength), Treadmill Test (cardiovascular and endurance), and Body Fat Analysis.  Schedule a Fitness Consultation to get started.

This 60 minute Fitness Evaluation is FREE to members.

Personal Training

Our team of Certified Personal Trainers will show you the most effective and safest way to reach your goals. Hiring a trainer is a proven method to maintain dedication and eliminate guesswork from your exer­cise regimen. Keep in mind that everyone is different and the training program must be custom designed to individual needs. Machine Orientation*

Instruction on safety and proper use of the cardiovas­cular and resistance-training equipment offered at the YMCA. Schedule a Fitness Consultation to learn more. This 60-minute appointment is FREE to members.

Total Life Coaching*

This program supports the whole You as you work toward achieving a balanced, satisfying and healthy life. The focus will be on the “Seven Dimensions of Health” rather than an ideal physical goal. At each of your four (4) FREE appointments, you and your coach will sit down and set SMART goals for your spirit, mind and body. Your coach will also follow up with you and check your progress. MaxTraining System

This program goes beyond standard personal training. It is a complete exercise and nutrition system custom­ized to individual goals, nutritional habits, health, fitness experience and predispositions.

Key features:

  • Weekly exercise plan for days without your trainer

  • Nutritional assignments specific to individual  eating habits and preferences. 

  • Setting a weight goal for every month

  • Functional components to improve lower back and joint strength

  • Regular progress monitoring

  • Regular changes and upgrades in the exercise program to avoid  muscle adaptation
