Site Director

Postion:  Site Director
Level:     Limited/Regular Part-time
Center:   Safe 'n Sound Program Office

Supervisor: Program Director

Prerequisites:

  • Must be a high school graduate
  • Must have flexible schedule and would be willing to work Monday-Friday
  • Must possess good communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working directly with children
  • Must have or obtain First Aid and CPR certification (within first 60 days)
  • 2 years of college preferred

General Responsibilities:

The Site Director will be responsible for the daily operation of a before and after school program. This includes planning, implementation, and supervision of the daily activities of the before and after school program. At times it may include the school days out program.

Specific Responsibilities:

Areas of responsibility include the following:

  • Staff Training
  • Skill Development and Progression
  • Program Development
  • Site Specific Responsibilities

Staff Training:

  1. Attend all staff meetings and training events as scheduled.

Skill Development and Progression:

  1. Child Abuse Prevention Training
  2. Working with 5-9
  3. 1st Aid/CPR
  4. Other training as designated by supervisor

Program Development:

  1. Assist in creating and implementing innovative activities for before and after school program and school days out program.
  2. Support the mission and philosophy of the YMCA and reflect these principles in your actions and promotion of all YMCA programs
  3. Must be willing to contribute time and ideas to additional events such as Lights on Afterschool, Healthy Kids Day, Strong Kids Campaign, and others as designated by supervisor.

Site Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and insure the safety of all program participants.
  2. Have direct involvement with the children.
  3. Organize and maintain all equipment and supplies including daily snack supply.
  4. Supervise and lead staff as well as advise them of daily responsibilities.
  5. Adhere to all rules, regulations, policies, and code of conduct set forth by the YMCA, YMCA Safe 'n Sound Handbook, and the school district.
  6. Maintain all attendance records.
  7. Assist Program Director with family programming involving participant's families.
  8. Communicate regularly with participant's family.
  9. Be responsible for creatign a sub folder.
  10. Communicate regularly with the program office.
  11. Develop relationship with school office.

The before and after school program will be a quality youth program adhering to the principles and purpose of the YMCA mission, thus building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
