YMCA Family Resource Centers
A program of Safe ‘n Sound
Strengthening Families Through Community Partnerships
For the children that
attend the FRC we offer a safe and caring environment after
school, on days when there is no school and during the summer
months. For the parents and families we offer life skill, job
enhancement and parenting classes.
The
programs are offered at little to no cost to the FRC
participants.
Programs are
offered at:
Scott Elementary School
Madison Junior High School
Georgetown Elementary School
After school program:
The
FRC offers children a variety of age-appropriate activities.
There are opportunities for both structured and unstructured
activities. Including:

Group discussion
emphasizing character development

Active time, both
indoor and outdoor group games and sports
-
Healthy snacks
-
Creative time for
arts and crafts
-
Homework and quiet
reading time with access to computers and internet
-
Free choice time
The
program is based on the YMCA four core values:
Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Summer Camp:
The
FRC offers a wide variety of camp activities during the summer
months. Including:

Two days of swimming
each week
-
Weekly field trips to
fun, exciting and educational locations

Opportunities to
visit other YMCA camps for weekly cookouts
