Programs and Services
at the YMCA
 |
Today's seniors are more health conscious than ever
before. At the YMCA we've made the health and fitness of
our seniors a priority by providing programs for the
spirit, mind and body. Through group exercise classes and
aquatic programs that concentrate on mobility and
flexibility, dance programs, educational programs, social
events, and volunteer activities, the YMCA is bringing
Active Older Adults together for camaraderie, fellowship
and fun!
The SilverSneakersĀ® class offers multi-level
equipment based strength and conditioning exercises.
Class is easy on your joints and appropriate for
individuals who exercise regularly as well as those
new to exercise or who may not have exercised in
years. The exercises are designed to improve your
strength, flexibility and the ability to perform
functional activities such as getting out of your car
or lifting your grandchildren! It is never too late to
start exercising. You can do this! Look at the Group
Exercise section for full class descriptions. |

Preschool Programs
In addition to Educational
Preschool programs, the Y offers a wide variety of
programs for the preschool aged child. These
programs promote the positive, healthy development of
young people through activities and experiences that
address the developmental assets that all children
need to obtain social, emotional, physical and
cognitive competencies. The YMCA is here to
provide an environment where your child can feel safe,
build trusting relationships, and have fun! The
picture on the left is just one example of a program
that preschoolers LOVE! Browse programs on-line,
check out our brochure or call the nearest branch to
get your child involved. |
