Here at the Heritage YMCA we value your time and talents.  Every moment spent volunteering helps us to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

The Heritage YMCA's Top Ten Reasons to Be A Volunteer

  1. To Do Something Good
  2. To Give Back to the Community
  3. To Meet New People
  4. To Have Fun To Be A Positive Role Model
  5. To Share Your Talents With Others
  6. To Inspire Someone
  7. To Make New Friends
  8. To Learn Something New
  9. To Challenge Yourself

How Can You Help?

Our volunteers come in all shapes and sizes, but the majority fall under the following categories:

Support Volunteers - These are the people who help us keep the Y running by helping out in the office, teaching classes, working at the front desk, etc.

Special Event Volunteers - These are the people who give of their time to help keep the Y prominent within our community.  They help with special events like the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, The Naperville Follies and Patrons Party, Senior Holiday Luncheons and many more fun times.

Fundraising Volunteers - The Y never turns anyone away due to inability to pay, and as a result we have a Strong Kids campaign each year that helps to subsidize programming, child care and membership for those who need assistance.  Without the help of our dedicated fundraising volunteers, we would struggle to assist as many families as we do.

Policy and Planning Volunteers - An often overlooked portion of our volunteer corps are those who serve on our YMCA boards and those who act as trustees.
